Register your interest - Caring for a person with a stoma workshop
Colostomy UK runs 'caring for a person with a stoma' workshops through the year, based on demand, which is for individuals such as for carers, friends, or family members of a person living with a stoma. We try to run these sessions at a low cost to participants.
Our ‘caring for a person with a stoma’ workshop is aimed at anyone who looks after someone with a stoma to provide practical advice and guidance on stoma care.
It covers all of the basics such as why someone has a stoma, anatomy, how to change a bag, support from stoma care nurses and Colostomy UK, different appliances, long term concerns, and the psychological impact of having a stoma.
The online workshop is delivered by a qualified and experienced practicing stoma care nurse over a 90-minute interactive session.
On completion of the workshop and completing a short feedback form, each attendee will receive a Colostomy UK certificate of completion.
