Stoma 101 - Managing common Stoma Problems
Stoma 101 - Managing common Stoma Problems

Most people are able to live life with a stoma much as they did before surgery, but it’s normal for questions or concerns to arise from time to time.

Our Stoma Problems hub brings together practical information on common issues such as ballooning, blockages, sore skin, wind, hernias and more, alongside booklets, factsheets, articles and downloadable resources. You’ll also find helpful hints and tips to support you in managing day-to-day challenges with confidence.

Many of these topics are covered in depth in our ‘Living with a stoma’ booklet, a comprehensive guide designed to support you throughout your stoma journey. If you’d like to talk things through, our free helpline and peer support options are also available for reassurance and shared experience.

Prescription Management Services- Everything you need to know
Prescription Management Services- Everything you need to know

Some areas in England are introducing central prescription services for stoma and other medical appliance supplies. While the way you place your monthly order may change, your right to choose your products and delivery company stays the same.

These services are designed to make repeat prescriptions more consistent and clinically supported, but it’s important you understand what this means for you.

Visit our information page for details about:

  • What central prescription services are
  • How the new ordering process works
  • Your right to choose your delivery supplier
  • Where to get help if you have concerns

If you’re unsure about any changes or feel pressured to switch suppliers, we’re here to support you.
