Working in Westminster

Back in June the House of Commons held its first ever general debate on Incontinence, and in November we were delighted to meet with two Members of Parliament who spoke about the need for better toilet facilities for people living with stomas. Jim Shannon (pictured) is the Democratic Unionist MP for Strangford, and Markus Campbell-Savours is the Labour MP for Penrith and Solway.

We explained our asks of the UK Government with regards to toilet provision and the guidance and support we received from both will be of huge benefit as we look to ramp up our campaigning to another level in 2026. Stay tuned for some potentially exciting news early in the New Year!

Support from Colostomy UK this Christmas

Whether you’re looking for support online or on the phone we’re here for you this Christmas. Our stoma helpline will be open across the holiday period offering practical and emotional support on 0800 328 4257, and you’ll also be able to talk to one of our team during office hours via the live chat function on our website colostomyuk.org.

Our Private Facebook group is a safe, confidential space where you can speak with thousands of other people who are living with a stoma. The group is ‘closed’ meaning that only other members can see what you say, it won’t appear on your feed or profile. Facebook Group.
