This online event is free for people who provide unpaid care or support to a person living with a stoma and want to improve their understanding of stoma care. This may be care and support given to a friend, neighbour or family member.
Cost, time and access to resources can be a barrier for unpaid carers. We want to support people who are providing care for someone living with a stoma and remove barriers to improved stoma care.
Our stoma care workshop is facilitated by an experienced Stoma Care Nurse, Rali Marinova, to provide the basics of stoma care, including:
• Why someone has a stoma • Anatomy of the bowels • How to change a bag • Common and long-term concerns with stoma management • The psychological impact of having a stoma • Who to contact • Q&A
The workshop will take place via Zoom and will last 90 minutes on the 16th of June, from 18:00 - 19:30PM.
