This online event is designed for professionals who provide care to individuals living with any type of stoma and want to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Whether you’re caring for someone with a colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy, this workshop will equip you with the essential basics to support someone living with a stoma as well as understand their daily challenges.

We understand that cost, time, and access to resources can often be barriers for professionals seeking  stoma care training.

That’s why we’re offering this affordable, 90-minute workshop to fit in with your busy schedules, with the hope that you can improve your knowledge without added stress or expense.

This session is particularly useful for professionals who want to:

  • Deepen their knowledge of providing stoma care

  • Recognise the common and long-term concerns that patients may face

  • Understand the impact of living with a stoma on the individual physically, emotionally and socially

Our workshop is led by a qualified and practicing stoma care nurse who will guide you through the basics of stoma care, including:

  • Why someone might have a stoma

  • Anatomy and function of a stoma

  • Practical stoma skills, like how to change a stoma bag

  • Common and long-term concerns related to stoma care

  • The emotional and psychological impact of living with a stoma

  • Resources and who to contact

This interactive session encourages you to ask questions and engage in discussions with other healthcare professionals.

Upon completing the workshop and the feedback survey, you will receive a Colostomy UK certificate.

Please be aware that spaces are limited to 20 attendees.
